My posts and my blog had one main purpose - to discuss and present how organic food is important to one organism. I use organic food for myself, for my family and my children, because I think that the most significant thing is to be healthy - health is the key to everything. I have offered several recipes and a lot of ideas that I use every day. I hope I helped somebody, and I also would like to discuss and I want to hear your experiences and opinions on how organic food is healthy for our children and whether it is involved in your daily nutrition?

Healthy snacks for children




Children learn healthy habits since they are still little. Instead of unhealthy, fatty and salty or luscious snacks, we can offer our kids nutritious snacks that will provide them with the necessary ingredients (minerals, vitamins) and give them energy. This is very important because children will learn how to eat healthy and will not need to consume products that, despite their great tastes, can be very harmful to their health.

-          First step – remove unhealthy snacks from home!
What you can do for a start is to offer the child healthy food that you can make at home in a very short time. And, remove any unhealthy snacks or cakes you have at home, because when the children do not see them, then they will not ask for them. Also, this will help us to be healthier as we need to be an example for our children, because if they see us eat healthy food, they will do the same.

We can make integral snacks at home by using an integral organic flour. This flour contains a lot of dietary fibers, giving the energy needed for everyday activities. This flour can be used for snacks that we will make in combination with vegetables. For example, make crackers of organic products such as flaxseeds, one carrot, red peppers, tomatoes, garlic, and lemon juice and pepper. The seeds first stand in water for about 2 hours, then mix all the ingredients and develop the dough on the baking paper. We leave to dry for a few hours and we can serve the crackers to children with a sauce of organic avocados, which is made in combination with onion and garlic, lemon juice and pepper.



-          The variety is important
Surprise children with pineapple, cranberries, etc. Instead of chocolate, offer your child a strawberry that you produced yourself in your yard. Also, you can make apple chips from organic apples. It's just enough to chop the apple, put it to baking, and in a few minutes, children have a healthy organic snacks.

-          Do not ignore candies
There are several ways to prepare candies that will be very healthy for the children, and even tasty. All children love sweets, however, as parents, we can offer healthy sweets that look interesting, because of the color. So, we can make green muffins that will get the color from the spinach, but it will be tasty because it will have a banana. What we can also do is prepare healthy chocolate muffins using our homemade organic almond milk, for which you can find a recipe on my blog on how to make it. Cocoa powder changes chocolate because it is 70% healthier.


-          Children like to have fun!
Serve those healthy snacks, fruits or vegetables in various forms. For example, if you want to serve integral tortillas, use muffins cups and serve a tortilla with various vegetables in them. Make fruit jars. Play, trying to eat fruits, cut into cubes, use Chinese sticks. Create an integral biscuit tower, print letters of integral rods, and make funny characters using different fruits and vegetables. Children love to play and find entertainment in everything - that's why it's very important how we will teach our children to have healthy habits.

Healthy food is the safest way to protect your children’s health, and all children need to consume quality food that was ecologically produced. Consuming healthy organic food is most significant for infants because such food help them to build a good immune system, so in this way healthy fed children will have a more resistant immune system.

Today, I am going to talk about how important is to fed your child properly. As I mentioned before in my posts, organic food is good choice for us, but we must be aware that our children must eat healthy food and therefore give them what we know and what we are sure is the right for them and for their health. We are all aware that genetically modified food (GMO) contains many pesticide residues, additives etc. This should be the main reason why to avoid such food, especially for the children and to choose organic food that will help you to make your own healthy food for children.

-        Why are children sensitive?
Children are most vulnerable by the end of their first year of life. The reasons for this are the physiological immaturity of the organism and the rate of cell proliferation, i.e. weight gain, so the body can only be supplied with proper nutrition. Some organ systems are developing and maturing during childhood. Kidneys of children’s are less able to get harmful substances from the body, and the liver cannot decomposed them. By the age of six, the child's body contains more water and less fat, unlike an adult's body. Fats, which in the body of a grown man “chase” and melt pesticides, are less able to function in the body of a child, and toxins circulate in the body, especially those that are water-soluble.
The nerve system is intensively developed during the first year and its development continues until the age of 18. And the presence of toxins can interfere the development process itself. That's why we should make sure that our children consume food and drinks that have no any artificial additives, which can seriously harm their organism.

-        Where to get the organic food that I need to fed my children properly?
In the UAE there are stores for healthy foods, farms, restaurants, but every big store has a part that sells healthy organic food. When buying vegetables, fruits or milk products, look for a sign that indicates that the product is organic. When you have the necessary ingredients, it is much easier to make your own food for your child. You can always buy baby foods (jars) that are organically produced, healthy without the use of pesticides, antibiotics and is sold as such. But it is a better alternative to know what we are giving to our child because the food it’s consumed is of the utmost importance for his development.


When we have decided to use biologically more valuable and delicious food for our children, we can make it at home, for example, our own jars for the child. Just pour the ingredients you want to use, add water or organic milk (which you can also produce yourself) and your child will have his healthy food in a few minutes. So if you have some corner in the house where you raise your own fruits and vegetables, then this is a better variant and you can be sure that your child gets the best possible food.

Parents need to be aware that we directly affect the health of our child. We are aware that buying organic food requires more money, but trying to create a homemade food is a cheaper option that is certainly acceptable. It is clear that even some conventional food contain the necessary minerals, vitamins, proteins, antioxidants, etc. as it contains organic food, but we have to agree that the presence of pesticides is what makes a genuine difference. Organic food does not contain pesticides, which is very important for the development of our child health and immune system. As a parent, I always choose what is best for my children. In a next following announcements, I will offer you a recipe to do your own healthy organic milk, and I will recommend organic products that should be a part of healthy nutrition of a child.

What is very important is that honey is a natural sweetener that can be used instead of sugar in any dish or beverage. It can also be used in childbirth, but it is not recommended that the baby be given honey in the first 12 months after birth. It is necessary to gradually introduce honey in the nourishment of the baby, and it is very important not to overturn it, because besides being healthy, there must be a limit as when it is consumed.
Organic honey is very important because it helps to cure food in children, helps with spinach, acts as a laxative, as a probiotic, and it is well known that microflora of the vermin plays an important role in health preservation - beneficial microflora reduces harmful bacteria in the crevices.

But that's why we can always buy it and always try to use in our everyday nutrition and preparation of our food.

Many people believe that glass of fresh orange juice in the morning is part of a healthy breakfast. But did we ever wonder if this is really our best choice?

In other words, a glass of juice contains an average of 110 calories and will provide you with a daily dose of vitamin C, an antioxidant that protects the skin and the whole organism. However, too much orange juice can cause dental wound damage.

A glass of organic milk with 2 percent milk fat will provide you 20 percent of the total daily protein requirement and a third of the required daily calcium. People who drink a glass of organic milk in the morning feel less hungry at lunch. Calcium helps control the body weight, and is not harmful for your teeth like juice. We need to think about this, because if our children consume milk every day, for breakfast, then we can reduce the possibility of harming their teeth.

We can see a lot of advices everywhere – many experts advise us to use organic milk that has no antibiotics and hormones, because this milk will provide us with the amount of antioxidant that our body needs. Since we all try to live healthier, today I will recommend you how to make your own almond milk that is much healthier than regular, and it is completely organic and healthy for our children.
-        How to make an almond milk at home

You can make this healthy and delicious drink at home quickly, and the taste is simply divine! With a combination of two essential ingredients, nuts and water you can produce this refreshing and healthy drink that perfectly replaces cow milk and brings a great benefits to our body. Making healthy drink at home will bring benefits not just to us, but to our children also.

You can add the almond milk to any smoothies based on bananas or to use for cooking healthy pudding such as berry or chocolate-banana, or produce it only for drinking.


Ingredients:
Almonds (raw) - 150 gr.
Water - 1.5 liters
Natural sweetener - for example, coconut sugar (2 tbsp).
Optionally - vanilla (powder or extract).
Gauze or thin cloth - for filtering the milk.
Blender (preferably stationary).
The sweetener should be used in order to achieve more intense taste, but many do not need it because the goal is to produce refreshing slightly sweet and healthy milk. As a natural sweetener you can use: dates, coconut sugar, palm sugar, honey, agave syrup, stevia extract and other useful sugar substitutes.

If you use dates - a specified amount of almonds and water will need 3-4 pieces. Or coconut sugar - it's enough 2 tablespoons. Do not panic, it's not the same as 2 tablespoons of white sugar. It is natural sugar, and it is not so sweet to the taste.

Soak almonds in water for 8-10 hours, you can more if you wish. After this step, drain the water and rinse the almonds. This is important, because when soaking nuts in the water, pesticides and other chemistry come out, if there is any. Put all the ingredients into the blender - almonds, water, sugar + extract of vanilla (drops 10). Requires a great speed of 1-2 minutes. Next, we process the milk. Take a jar and on top of it place a gauze. Pour the milk gently through the gauze into the jar. At the end press the gauze to extract the last drop of milk and the almond milk is ready! Enjoy! You should have 1.5 l of milk out of 150 g of almonds. You should keep it in the refrigerator a couple of days.

The almond milk comes with a great benefits. Primarily, the milk do not contain lactose and therefore no cause for allergy or cholesterol. It is also rich in calcium, which is necessary for strengthening the bones, which is extremely important for children in their development. For adults, positively affects the cardiovascular system and the omega acids normalize blood pressure and reduce the risk of developing heart disease. There is a vitamin D in the milk, which opposes the occurrence of osteoporosis.

It is just and introduction to the topic and I would like to mention that we are starting with growing organic food before giving advice and all info about organic food, simply because if you decide to do it by yourself at home, you can use our advices and tips immediately after we release the topic for the day, and not just read about it, and then spend a week trying to find the product. 
Growing your own organic food



Most of us know that organic food is good for health, but for many, its high price is a very big problem. The supplies that the companies are using to produce organic food are in bulk, and because of that, they are paying top dollar for them, so it is only logical they are more expensive than your average product.

This is why we are showing you several ways in which you can get organic food at an acceptable price, and the best way is to produce it by yourself.

This means that you have to have a small amount of space, not much, but enough to make and improvised garden of sort. If you live countryside, you are truly blessed. If you have limited space, customize each niche, corner, cracking, and redefine common household items to gain space for the purpose of growing your food.
So, instead of flowers, windowed pots can be used for planting green vegetables, radish, herbs, paprika, tomatoes and strawberries. Pinch the horizontal rows of the gutter on the wall and place in their leafy vegetables.


Turn the car tires into containers suitable for planting crops that require warm soil, such as sweet potatoes and basil. Crops that correspond to acidic medium, such as blueberries, require a lime-free compost. Many-year fruit trees and shrubs will use a ground-based blend that slowly releases nutrients.
The next step is selection of seeds
Make sure that you use only the highest quality seed for each crop. This seed is carefully grown to produce the best herbal food from it. Well-selected seeds will give fertility to your garden, and will determine the juiciness and vegetable resistance.

Also, use seedlings. When the seedlings grow and the outside temperature exceeds eight degrees Celsius, the plants will need one to two weeks of fixing before they are transferred to the ground. Gradually, day after day, leave them outdoors longer and increase their exposure to the sun.

The science behind the systems is making sure that the soil fertility is for longer period and not just a momentary solution, which means that the resources from mother earth are less exposed and are used rationally, and above all, the animals that are fed with the food are taken care with their welfare at first place, so they can have the longest life span possible, and are protected from any diseases that the crops and weeds can be infected with. What is meant by that is that the soil, weeds, and all of the crops that the animals are fed from, are protected from the diseases and pests because of the natural biological diversity of the whole system. On top of that, additives and protein based enhances, and of course, fertilizers are strongly prohibited with law when organic farming is the case.

So what we can deduct from the whole paragraph appointed above, is that companies and individuals are trying to fight back the food industry and want to eat healthier because all of our lives depend on how we feed, whether we like to acknowledge that or not. This is what Healthy Corner is all about, promoting healthy and organic food, and giving advices on how people should feed correctly not only for their own sake, but for the sake of their children also. Baby organic food is also a new topic on the subject of organic food, and very popular, but we will get into detail about that next time.

Organic food has been in the public eye for some time, making it clear to us what kind of food we eat. Until the beginning of the agrarian "revolution," all foods were organic, people in their land cultivated vegetables, fruits and grain the way they did it from time to time - in a natural, ecological way. Due to the growth of population and the spread of cities, it was inevitable to come to a revolution in land cultivation, cultivation of crops and growing more animals. In order to feed the population, we went from quality to quantity.



What is organic food? Organic or ecological foods are foods that are produced in traditional "antique" ways, which completely reject the use of artificial pesticides, herbicides, chemical additives and other chemicals, as well as artificial fertilizers, without treating products or seeds with radiation and without using GMOs (genetically modified organisms). Organically grown animals eat only natural foods, with no hormones, antibiotics and other harmful ingredient. Organic food is, therefore, natural, organic, quality, but also expensive. 


Simply, the quality costs. If we are talking about the organic cultivation of agricultural crops, on the same soil surface organic healthily grown vegetables do not have such an income, as classical industrial cultivation, but also organic cultures are also significantly less resistant to certain pests and diseases. Pesticides, if they are natural, can be used in organic production. When everything is taken into account, organic food must be expensive, and if it is not, then something does not matter.  For most foods it is about 3 times more expensive.

Every food producer that wants to sell its products as an organic must be certified by the competent certification institutions, thus obtaining the right to label the product as "organic food". The producer can sell his product as organic for a period of 3 years from the moment of accreditation. The certificate has a validity period, and if it has expired, this means that the manufacturer is no longer certified, and his product is no longer under control. Therefore, the manufacturer is controlled by a certification house.
Further, certification companies are controlled by the state, that is, agricultural inspection. It is in the interests of the state not to violate the protocol, since victims can be, of course, customers who think they are buying an organic product, and they receive a "standard" industrial culture. 


When we eat organic food, the level of harmful substances in our body decreases. In classical agricultural production, many pesticides, herbicides and other chemicals are used that have a good impact on sustainability and the product, but they certainly have an adverse effect on overall health. Some chemicals increase the risk of disease such as cancer, nervous diseases, allergies and others.
Organic products have a higher level of nutrients, vitamins, minerals than classically cultivated products. Quality is definitely on the side of organic food. The only question is - can we afford it so we can consume it every day?


If you are concerned about your health and your family's health, you should opt for organic food, and once you get used to it, you will never return to massively produced and unhealthy fruits, vegetables and meat without real taste. Of course, at the beginning, you will find problems that are important for the availability and price of organic food. However, if you do a little effort in the markets and in the surrounding villages and how to find quality, fresh products from nature will be part of your everyday life.
